Meet the Milliner

Lisa Hatch - Milliner

Lisa Hatch

Lisa Hatch Millinery was started in 2003 when my life-long interests in fashion and sewing merged with a passion for wearing hats.  I started by studying with Chicago’s Veronica Chin at The College of DuPage that summer.  I soon knew that occasionally making hats for only myself wasn’t going to satisfy the urge to learn and practice the many millinery skills that are combined to make each hat. I continue to enjoy taking classes from time to time with other milliners and sharing our experiences and ideas.

I not only enjoy the art of hat making but also sharing with a customer the fun of discovering a hat that enhances her apparel, brings out her personality and expresses a mood. Hats keep us warm or cool and shade our skin, but they can also inspire confidence and express individuality.  We can hide or flirt from beneath them, make bold or subtle fashion statements with them. And best of all, they just make life a lot of fun.
