Impressionism and Fashion

I enjoyed the Impressionism & Fashion exhibit at The Met so much this May that I went to Chicago yesterday to see the exhibit again while it’s at The Art Institute. It’s wonderful, and I hope those of you who haven’t yet seen it will try to catch it before it leaves at the end of Sept. This quote caught my eye: What calls for the most care in a woman’s costume is, unquestionably, the footgear and gloves; and after that, the hat, the sole duty of which is to be charming.
